The terrible truth

1951 10 min Documentary Social guidance films

Documents the story of one teenage girl typical of youthful narcotics addicts. Starting with an occasional marijuana cigarette, she is induced to experiment with a 'fix' of heroin. Soon she is a hopeless 'hype,' with a criminal record and a blighted future. Judge William T. McKesson, of the Los Angeles Juvenile Court, presents the arguments against having any contact with drugs in any form.
